The article reviews hydromineral raw materials widely used in medical practice and analyzes their genesis conditions and effect they exert on human body’s organs, tissues and systems. Case studies show prospects for using hydromineral materials towards handling economic problems, strategic development and evolution management of mineral sources for economic advance in the regions of Russia. Among the discussed curative mineral resources are mineral water, clays, peloids, bog muck and decay ooze. The author thinks the role of curative hydromineral materials in the regional economic development in Russia is unappreciated. The modern geology science in Russia sets a prime mission to revitalize prospecting, geological exploration and balneology studies aimed at discovery of new promising sources of hydromineral raw materials, siting of recreational complexes and development of health resorts either within the known territories with healthy and propitious nature, climate and economics, or alongside industrialized inhabited areas in Siberia and the Far East of Russia.
