Abstract

Analysis of modern status of mineral resources base of Komi Republic is described along with its structure, geological and technological knowledge degree and industrial usage. Mineral resources base of Komi Republic is characterized by significant resources and reserves of various types of minerals, large potential of its following reproduction and increasing. Mineral resources occupy a highly important place in Russia as the social-economic development basis of this region. Explored deposits of many types of solid mineral resources correspond to the scales of categories of large basins (coal, kerosene shales) and provinces (bauxites, titanium, barite, quartz-vein raw materials). At the same time, reserves of these deposits are leading and significant in the State Balance of reserves of minerals of Russian Federation. Oil and gas sector, which is characterized by sustainable ratio of extraction, transporting and processing of raw materials, is an efficiently developed, and economically and socially significant sector of mineral resource complex of Komi Republic. The Republic is tenth among the oil extraction regions of Russia (near 2.6% of total extraction). Region has the significant potential for expanding of raw materials base of oil and gas industry. This article shares the problems and basic directions of reproduction and increasing of industrial reserves on groups and types of minerals, as well as tasks on improvement of mastering of new deposits and manufacturing of competitive marketable products.
