Abstract

This article describes the stages of creation and development of Institute of Mining of Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, which was formed in 1983 in Khabarovsk. Nowadays, this Institute includes 8 operating scientific units and a Center of multiple access on research of mineral resources. The Institute has the following scientific fields:
-research of regularities and processes of mastering of mineral resources of Far Eastern region;
-geomechanical and ecological basis of interaction of natural and anthropogenic objects of geosystems;
-substantiation of new technologies of complex extraction of valuable components in the time of development and deep processing of solid minerals.
For the 30-year period, there has been carried out the big extent of examinations in the following areas: open-cast and underground geotechnology; creation of efficient mining equipment; concentration of ores and placers; geomenhanics; geoecology and other branches of mining science.
The Institute developed the most prospective geotechnologies, such as:
-technology of extraction of valuable components from lixiviation fractions of gold-containing sands on the basis of complex influence of centrifugal and vibration processes;
-technology, based on non-sluice method of concentration of noble metal sands;
-technology of low-temperature flotation of calcium minerals etc.
The large-scale complex geomechanical researches were carried out in the conditions of bump hazardous deposits of Far East and Transbaikalian region. As a result of these researches, the regularities of formation of natural-anthropogenic stress fields in rock massifs were defined along with development and introduction of efficient methods and measuring complexes for geomechanical monitoring.
