Abstract

Outokumpu is presented globally as the leading producer of high-quality steel. The company is presented in 30 countries, at 15 production sites and 16 service centers in China, Finland, Germany, Mexico, Sweden, UK and USA. Europe is the largest business area of Outokumpu, the European profit makes more that half of the company’s turnover. In this region Outokumpu has large production volumes in the field of highquality steel for automotive industry, as well as for heavy transport machinery, for tinplate products, for chemical and petrochemical industries, for power engineering and metal working. Nirosta Ferrit-Optimierung is a large project for modernization and restructurization of Outokumpu production facilities at Krefeld plant in Germany. Realization of this project will help the company to meet the more and more strict quality requirements of the customers in the harsh market conditions.
