Abstract

The paper describes qualitative variation of thermal-physical parameters of solidifying large ingot and the following consequences of this variation. The chemical elements presented in the ingots, their classification and effect on operating parameters of finished products are described as well. The tendency to rise of ingot metal purity and positive influence of this tendency on the value of brittletough transition in steel is presented.
