Abstract

The article discusses the possibilities and current state of such a direction in the recycling of steel products, as their rolling into new products. It is noted that for the economically and technologically efficient implementation of this direction is necessary to process products that meet certain criteria. These criteria include the stable characteristics of rolled steel products according to the geometry and chemical composition, as well as volume and rhythm of delivery. It is shown that relatively small group of products meets appropriate requirements, first of all – railway rails, with the nomenclature derived products is substantially limited properties of rolled steel. Methods for the implementation of the technology of rolling rails and their parts are presented, the possibilities of rolling a less massive, in comparison with rails, secondary material – railway axles and sucker rods are considered. The current state of this sub-industry is analyzed and the only Russian rolling enterprise – «Tula Metal Rolling Plant» is considered.
