Abstract

The article deals with the issues of modern energy and electricity supply using alternative solar energy in mining in the conditions of the Far North of the Russian Federation. The article provides examples of the use of unconventional and renewable energy sources, the description of the device, the principle of operation, design features and calculation of power plants for converting energy from alternative sources into mechanical, electrical and thermal energy. The article also shows the economic effect of using alternative energy sources. The purpose of alternative energy is to use renewable or practically inexhaustible resources for energy generation, as well as focus on the exclusion of factors that negatively affect the environment. The mining industry is one of the most energy-intensive sectors of economy, which is associated with the specifics and variety of technological processes of extraction and primary processing of mineral raw materials. When building and organizing the work of a mine, one of the most important issues is energy supply. Despite the availability of energy resources, the problem of energy supply to remote areas is acute in Russian regions. This problem is also faced by mining companies, especially when commissioning facilities for the development of new mineral deposits. PJSC ALROSA has a positive experience of working with solar panels as additional or emergency power supply sources. Russia has a huge potential in the field of alternative energy, this energy sector will grow therefore, and it is promising to develop renewable energy sources in the Far North of Russia.
