Abstract

One of the most effective ways to increase the productivity of machines and equipment in mining and metallurgy is to increase the technical and operational indicators of power plants - internal combustion engines. Modern realities dictate the following requirements: improvement of the design and manufacturing technology of engines; improving the quality of materials used and products of related industries; improving activities in the field of technical operation and repair. High reliability and performance of engines provides a great economic effect in production activities by reducing equipment downtime, increasing machine productivity, reducing repair costs, and reducing the need for spare parts. The performance of engines and the safety of mining and metallurgical machines operated in Armenia are greatly influenced by climatic factors and air pollution, the professional training of specialists in operation, maintenance and repair, and the quality of the entire technical operation system. The aggressiveness of the environment and difficult operating conditions of mining machines and metallurgical production machines are accompanied by destruction of working surfaces of engine parts, their mutual movement, friction, heating, chemical transformation, changes in physical quantities and design parameters (dimensions, reciprocal position, etc.) during operation. ), that leads to decrease in indicators of reliability, performance, strength. This ultimately leads to failures, increased downtime and repair costs. The main types of failures and damage in engine mechanism elements are determined. A list of basic works is proposed that require simple practical technologies on site to eliminate malfunctions and defects, and generally increase the productivity of machines.
