Abstract

Bakal mining administration is one of the oldest enterprises on extraction and processing of iron ores. It celebrates its 255-th anniversary in September 2012.
Bakal mining administration is situated in Satkinsk district of Chelyabinsk region (Russia). It specializes on the reserves processing of Bakal group of deposits.
The raw materials base of an enterprise is formed by limonites (34 million tones) and siderites (953 million tones). An average contain of iron in limonies is 42,6 %; in siderites — 31%.
An ultimate output is a marketable sintering ore, which contains 48–49 % of iron.
Due to the close location of deposits to the metallurgical enterprises of Ural and Siberia, Bakal mining administration is the most prospective supplier of iron ore production in the region. This production is in a great demand among metallurgists.
In summer 2012, launching of a first turn of technological line on preliminary benefication of siderite ores is planned by method of X ray radiometric separation. In prospect, it will allow to reduce the part of enterprise`s cost of electrical energy.
Currently, the projects on the automation of roasting process are implemented within the technical reequipment, along with the planned reconstruction and modernization of mine`s furnaces. Due to these operations, the enterprise will significantly decrease its energetic coasts.
The Bakal enterprise works closely with industrial scientific and research institutes of Ekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Magnitogorsk and various enterprises, which share the questions of the increase of ore quality and widening of the products`range.
