Continuous experimental monitoring of the methane gas release into the degassing wells of the excavated sites is the base of the research. The degassing wells are drilled in the roof rocks to the undermined contiguous seams which are above the splitting opening. The gas release is related with the parameters of clean-up works. Physical and mathematical model of the dynamics of methane release into the degassing wells from undermined coal seams which allows release gas quantity from total measured methane release of each undermined seam. The model quantitatively links parameters of clean-up works with each other, processes of rocks displacement and gas release from contiguous seams.
The check of the main regulations of the researches is made in conditions where gaseous anthracitic seams are worked. The rocks of the gaseous anthracitic seams are highly strong. The methane release takes place under the influence of processes of rocks displacement. If the coal seams are less metamorphized they have less strong rocks. This fact can change the dynamics of gas release. Never the less the main scientific regulations which are the base of physical and mathematical model are the same.
Physical and mathematical model of gas release proposed was of scientific and practical importance for coal industry. Its introduction and using for making-up documents of standards will promote further increase the level of safety practicing of gassy coal seams.
