Abstract

The essence of two scientific doctrines (the old and the new) for the development of mining technology, was formulated on the basis of a retrospective analysis of the mining industry problems. There were shown the advantages of the proposed new scientific doctrine which is based on a non traditional solving of main mining technical problems. The main technical contradictions of modern mining technology were considered. The paradigm of engineering mentality was shown. The basic requirements to the mining equipment were substantiated as to the system of ideal design objects. The main technical requirements to the new mining machinery and technology were formulated. The “XXI century mine” scientific doctrine was substantiated as a model of innovative development. The new types of mining machines were developed: the frontal roadheader “MIR” (Mining Intelligent Roadheader) with the mining penetration rate by 70–100 meters per day; the unit of the frontal manless dredging of thin coal seams with coal mining productivity by 4–6 thousand tons per day; the universal scheme of the opening system and system of manless extraction of coal seams in the neutral gas medium with waste rock leaving in the mine and methane accompanying mining. The pilot project was proposed for the high-performance hydraulic-jack hoist (20 thousand cubic meters per day, regardless of depth) and drainage without usage of ropes and pipes, which supplies the two-time energy conversation and decreases the equipment cost to 3-4 times for the vertical lift. A new mine energy supply system was developed on the basis of usage of mine methane in the methane diesel engines of mine equipment. The “XXI century mine” is presented in common as the energy-wise self-sufficient and environmentally sound mining enterprise.
