This system is designed to obtain immediate information about state and operation of blast-furnace bottom and to present it in suitable form for keeping up technological process. It allows determining the degree of filling the hearth with cast products, irregularity of its filling and unloading inside furnace periphery, common tendency and local deterioration zones of drainage conditions, an overflow of furnace’s hearth, change tendency as well as prognostication of blast-furnace heat state change. Technological advance of blast-furnace melting using the system with required technological regulations allow to reduce peripheral irregularity of hearth operation, to settle going out the charging product column, to adjust temperature field along furnace section. The systems have been put into practice at Enakievsky metallurgical works, Alchevsky metallurgical integrated works, Dnepropetrovsky metallurgical works named after G. I. Petrovsky, “Azovstal” integrated metallurgical works. This putting into practice has been accompanied by development of corresponding measures and instructions for maintenance and technical service as well as by lectures for technological personnel about theory and practice of operation of hearth and of blast furnace in general. Improvement of blast furnace practice based on usa ge of the proposed system with corresponding technological regulations, allows to stabilize movement of charge materials in the furnace, to equalize temperature field across the furnace cross section and to obtain 9% of blast-furnace capacity growth and 1.2% reduce of coke consumption with decrease of the quantity of tuyeres burnt.
