The final issue of this year came out. Here are some topics of the final issue of our journal.

The paper by S. A. Bakharev is concerned with the problem of a diamonds recovery plant return water clarification. Application of the return water acoustical treatment installation, developed by the author, permitted to significantly decrease concentration of slime particles, mainly represented by difficultly settling saponite, in tailings slurry in TSF cell. So, the important task of supplying sufficiently clean return water to the diamonds recovery plant was successfully solved.

The authors of the paper “The Bereznyakovskoye deposit gold ore processing technology improvement” (the paper by G. A. Vashchenko, et al.) recommended a flow sheet for this deposit primary sulfide gold ore processing. On the basis of the results of the research works, a process operating procedure for design has been developed, the Project Design has been implemented, Phase One of the gold recovery plant has been constructed and commissioned. Commissioning of Phase Two of the gold recovery plant is currently under way.

The paper by А. V. Zashikhin, et al., presents the results of deep-filled sluice conceptually different gold-catching covers testingin gold-bearing sand washing. Main features and advantages of the testedsluice covers, as well as conditions of their commercial application, are described.

The results of the Kola Peninsula two deposits’ low-sulfide platinum-group metals ores rock materials physical-mechanical characteristics studies are analyzed in the paper by V. V. Marchevskaya and Т. N. Mukhina, the rock materials in question representing new mineral resources in the region. These deposits rock materials strength and abrasivity properties, as well as crushability and grindabilty, were studied. Development of these deposits is planned to be started in the near term.

A paper was published in the section “Automated Control Systems”, which may be praised, as papers appeared in this section quite infrequently in recent time. V. N. Dobrynin, et al., prove consistency (possibility of implementation)of production process intelligent control system, training of personnel, effectiveness of process operations control (intelligentintegrated production process control system and beneficiation process grade control) through the example of the Stoilensky complex ore-dressing plant crushing section. As an intelligentAdd-incustomization of a higher level over anAutomatic Process Control System, it permits to eliminate the disadvantages of the latter – to significantly increasedecision-making rate and improve production process control performance.

Also, a sufficiently detailed information is provided with regard to thecritical tasks that metallurgists are confronted with, as well as the promising ways for their solution, discussed at the two large conferences held last autumn – the Plaksin’s Readings-2014 “Advanced methods of natural mineral and man-caused raw materials processing and combined treatment” and theInternationalResearch-and-Practical Conference “Modern Trends in the Theory and Practice of Natural Minerals and Man-caused Raw Materials Mining and Processing”, dedicated to the 85^th anniversary of the “Uralmekhanobr” Institute foundation.
