The issue begins with the paper (the authors – T. N. Aleksandrova, et al.) dedicated to the Mayskoye deposit difficultly-treated gold sulfide ore processing, the deposit being one of the five Russian largest gold reserves, which by itself is noteworthy. It is shown, that removal of ore carboniferous components from concentrate at the stage of concentration by flotation and gravity methods provides for the ratio of gold and carbon in concentrate, required for successful subsequent processing of concentrate by pressure oxidation technology with subsequent sorption cyanidation, which is most promising for the type of ores in question.
The paper in the section “Beneficiation processes” (the authors – A. A. Daryin, et al.) is dedicated to the theory and practice of silicate microorganisms application in low-grade ores treatment. On the basis of the results, obtained in the quartziferous ores silicate bacterial treatment studies, the conclusions are drawn with respect to ore biodestructive dynamics and possible mechanism of quartz inclusions disintegration. It is the author's opinion that the observed processes may permit to considerably increase quartziferous ores processing efficiency on a commercial scale.
A review of the modern methods of computational investigation andmodelingof mechanics of granular media undervibration action is published in the section “Theory of processes” (the authors – L.А. Vaisberg, et al.). The impressive list of analyzed references indicates a profound in-depth analysis of the problem.
Two papers on the subject of ores and processing products sampling are published in the section “Methods of analysis in beneficiation process”. The authors of the first paper (V. Z. Kozin, A. S. Komlev) demonstrate a solution for the problem of either taking into consideration or rejecting results of analysis of so-termed outstanding samples through the example of the gold recovery plant tailings sampling. It is shown, that the choice is directly related to control period duration. With that, it is noted, that the problem of taking into consideration results of analysis of outstanding samples is completely eliminated when sampling stations provide for short time intervals between taking of spot samples. The advantages of application of the screen-analysis method for determination of gold grade in samples are demonstrated in the second paper (the authors – S. V. Petrov, et al.). It is noted, that application of the proposed method permits to promptly determine gold content in specimens of over 1-2 kg of mass, excluding negative effect of free gold analysis results, occurring in samples, and increasing precision of analysis performance. By way of example of this method application, the results of gold grade determination in ore samples with large grains of native gold taken from the Golets Vysochaishiy deposit in the Irkutsk region are presented.
