The issue begins with the description of an interestingapproach (the paper by S. V. Petrov, et al.), permitting to determine quickly and easily the value of gold deposit at different stages ofgeological prospecting and exploration. The methodology is based on analysis of information onreal transactions of purchasing gold andassociate metals deposits by Polymetal International plc. Comparison of real value of goldin situ, defined by the results of the transactions of the related gold deposits, with thepredicted values demonstrates a quiteclose agreement.

The analysis of GOST 14180-80(95) “Nonferrous metal ores and concentrates. Methods of selection and preparation of samples for chemical analysis and moisture determination”, as well as the experience in theoretical and practical studies of sampling processes at concentrating plants led the authors of the paper in the section “Methods of analysis inbeneficiation processes” (V. Z. Kozin, A. S. Komlev) to the conclusion that manyprovisions of the operating standard need to be changed. A number of concrete propositions with a view to improve sampling procedure are offered to the judgment of specialists. The authors consider that discussion of the proposed changeson the pages of the journal “Obogashchenie Rud” willget the required support fromproduction plants.

Consideration of the papersdedicated to hydrometallurgy (the paper by P. V. Zaitsev, et al.) concludes the review of the papers, submitted to the XXVIIth International Mineral Processing Congress, the first two parts of which were published in the issues Nos. 3 and 6 of the journal in 2015.
