The International Conference “Efficient Use of Resources and Environmental Protection in Minerals Processing” (The Plaksin’s Readings-2016), dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the “Mekhanobr” Institute, took place in St. Petersburg on the 26-30 September. Brief information about the results of the Conference is published in the new issue of the journal.

The Conference organizers requested the relevant journals to publish articles following the most interesting papers, presented at the Conference. Some of these articles are already included in this issue.

The experience in designing ore preparation circuits for diamond recovery plants, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of crushing and grinding equipment applied in processing of water-bearing ores with a high clay content, are considered in the paper by A. S. Belov.

The results of the comprehensive experimental studies related to the effect of directed changes in sorption properties of tantalite, columbite, zircon, quartz and feldspar in the process of their treatment with water electrolysis acid product – anolyte and hydrochloric acid solution, are presented in the paper by V. А. Chanturiya, et al.

The paper is timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the Talnakh Concentrator operation, a part of the “Norilsk Nickel” Mine-and-Mill Complex transpolar operations, reviewing the main milestones of The Talnakh Concentrator upgrade and technical re-equipment Project realization (the first and the second start-up complexes) with the capacity increase to 16 million tons per year by total ores quantity is reviewed in the paper by G. N. Smirnov, et al.
