The “Mekhanobr” 100^th Anniversary International Conference “Resource-saving and Environmental Protection in Beneficiation and Mineral Processing” (The Plaksin’s Readings-2016) took place in 2016. The speech delivered by the member of the “Mekhanobr” Institute Board of Directors and the Scientific Advisor of the Research and Engineering Corporation “Mekhanobr-Tekhnika”, Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences L. А. Vaisberg, as well as the report by the General Director of ZAO “Mekhanobr Engineering” E.M. Shenderovich, dedicated to the 100^th Anniversary, are published in this issue of our journal.

This issue of the journal is for the most part assembled of the papers by the “Mekhanobr” staff, reflecting some of the current research trends, developed at the Institute. This is the development of dry beneficiation methods for different types of solid commercial minerals (the papers by A. M. Gerasimov and S.V. Dmitriev; L. А. Vaisberg, etc.); the studies in the area of vibrational mechanics, deep investigation and application of vibrational effects in engineering and technologies of minerals processing (the papers by L. А. Vaisberg, etc., I. I. Blekhman, etc., Ye. V. Shishkin and А. N. Safronov); environmental damage minimization in different technological process stages of ore mining and processing production (the papers by V. I. Aleksandrov and V. I. Kibirev; N. V. Mikhaylova).
