This year Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union celebrates its 50th anniversary. The company is the key uranium-mining enterprise of Russia, one of divisions in the structure of JSC Atomredmetzoloto. The set of two articles dated for this occasion opens the issue.
The paper by S. I. Korneev is published in the “Economics and management of production” section. The author analyzes the prospects of electric vehicle’s market development and its influencing the market of nickel, which is used in the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries.
The paper in the “Noble metals and alloys” section should be also noted. The authors have been studied the process of palladium extraction out of solutions of hydrochloride leaching of the residue of cobalt concentrate opening. Demonstrated is a possibility to selectively evolve 99.5 % of palladium of these solutions in case of extraction by Mextral 84H fluid with Alamine 336 addition and to transfer 87.3 % of palladium into chloride re-extract during subsequent re-extraction by HCl solution.
Besides, it is necessary to draw the attention of the readers to the “Metal processing” section and the article “Control of structure formation in selective laser melting process”. The authors have conducted complex investigation of the manner in which the process variables of selective laser melting affect the structure and behaviour of Inconel 718 alloy.
