Tsvetnye Metally
The December issue of Tsvetnye Metally features articles about the processing of heavy, precious and rare metals, which are included in the following sections: Economics and Management of Production, Benefication, Composites and Multifunctional Coatings, Materials Science, and Metal Processing. The authors of the papers belong to a variety of universities, including Siberian Federal University, Ural Federal University named after B. N. Yeltsin, Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies of the Russian Technological University, MISiS National University of Science and Technology, MEPhI National Research Nuclear University. This issue also contains publications by the Russian Academy of Sciences institutes (Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials, Baikal Institute of Nature Management of the RAS Siberian Branch), research centres (Kurchatov Institute, Federal Institute of Intellectual Property and Business Certification and Valuation), and industrial companies (Arkonik SMZ, Sespel Cheboksary Enterprise et al.).
The Beneficationsection features articles about the processing of dumped complex copper ores and the upgrading of lead concentrate.
The paper authored by the RAS Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materialsand published in the Heavy Non-Ferrous Metals section describes the results of a study that focused on the leaching of reduced limonite ore with diluted solutions of sulphuric acid.
One of the papers published in the Noble Metals and Alloys section examines some of the most popular techniques for processing rebellious gold-containing materials that cannot be cyanided using conventional techniques due to gold nanoparticles disseminated in the sulfide minerals. Thus, it is proposed to use nitric acid to loosen such rebellious concentrates.
The authors of the article published in the Composites and Multifunctional Coatingssection report that they established a hardening effect of the L12 — Al3(Zr, Sc) phase in the model hypoeutectoic alloys of the Al – Ca – Ni – Ce – Fesystem. The authors belong to the Department of Metal Forming of the MISiS National University of Science and Technologyand the Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials.
The Materials Sciencesection contains papers the authors of which report their findings on the properties of materials produced by selective laser melting and helical rolling.
The authors from Arkonik SMZ and Sespel Cheboksary Enterprise, as well as Moscow Polytechnic University, carried out a comparative study that looked at the mechanical properties of AD0 plate joints produced by multipass TIG welding and friction stir welding.Their findings are published in one of the papers in the Metal Processing section.
