Obogashchenie Rud

The first issue of this year's journal is formed by five traditional sections — «Beneficiation processes», «Analytical methods», «Equipment», «Theory of processes», «Environmental technics and technology».

The section «Beneficiation processes» has combined two publications. One of them presents the results of pilot tests on the applicability of the Knelson CVD technology, conducted for various concentration plant products at a mine in the Trans-Baikal Territory. The authors have established the statistically significant relationship between the concentration yield and the adjustable parameters, which enables preliminary calculations of the potential of CVD technology introduction at mining and processing enterprises.

The second article of this section is written by experts from the universities of Saudi Arabia and Egypt and is devoted to the study of the dependence of Bond Work Index for the ball mill in grinding various types of phosphate ores on the chemical composition of these ores.

Noteworthy is the publication of the «Theory of processes» section, which represents fundamental research in the field of energy consumption in vibratory machines, where material is transported or a technological process is accompanied by transportation.

The articles in the section «Analytical methods» are devoted to determining the variation coefficient for the mass fraction of a useful component in the ore or concentrate; determination of gold and platinum-group metals in gold-bearing black shale deposits of Northeastern Russia.

The publications of the «Environmental technics and technology» section are always relevant. In this issue it is presented by article about developed at Mining Institute of Kola Science Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences method for industrial effluent treatment with the use of a carbon-mineral sorbent (a highly porous oleophilic material) formed in the heat treatment of vermiculite.

The «Equipment» section consists of two articles, one of which concerns the study of the influence of the key factors on the efficiency of material separation in Itomak KG-0.1 centrifugal concentrators. The second publication of this section presents overview and analysis of the main trends in the upgrades of slurry pumps, including the design features of the most advanced single-stage centrifugal pumps, the use of information technology and studies on power consumption by pumping equipment.
