The issue is opened by one of the key sections of the journal — «Beneficiation technology». It presents a publication on the study of the enrichment of polymetallic ore from one of the deposits of Transbaikalia, the main valuable components of which are gold, silver, lead, zinc and copper. Due to the obtained results, a combined enrichment scheme was developed, which made it possible to obtain a lead concentrate with the content of lead, gold and silver of 62.13 %, 40.96 g/t and 1517.15 g/t with the recovery of 88.06, 56.54 and 88.24 %, respectively.
Another leading column of the journal — «Beneficiation processes» — leads in the number of publications. It includes four articles in which: the need to include magnetic separation in the enrichment scheme of gold sands containing a large amount of heavy minerals is considered; the effect of calcium ions on the surface condition and floatability of molybdenite under grinding and collective flotation conditions was studied; the results of assessment of the most significant factors affecting the extraction of zirconium from eudialite concentrate using a mathematical model of the screening experiment are presented. An article by the authors from the Indian Institute of Science is devoted to the study of low grade copper ore from Mpanda Mineral Field (MMF) using selective dispersion–flocculation and flotation processes to beneficiate chalcopyrite.
The publication of the section «Technological mineralogy» shows how the effects occurring in rocks of different texture, structure and porosity under the influence of compressive load were studied on granite and gabbro-diabase samples.
The articles of the sections «Environment protection technology» and «Secondary raw material processing» are invariably relevant. The first presents the research, which proved the possibility of obtaining complex coagulants for water treatment from Russian large-tonnage titanium-containing raw materials. The second includes two publications of Kazakh scientists devoted to the production of rare earth elements from red sludge by means of reducing smelting and recovery of gold associated with sulfides from the ore mass of spent piles of heap leaching.
