Tsvetnye Metally

The June issue of the "Tsvetnye metally" journal presented to your attention clearly demonstrates the multidisciplinarity of the modern metallurgical industry. It includes scientific and technological developments in mining (mining and processing of metal ores), metallurgical (methods of obtaining metals, alloys and products based on them), chemical (development and research of modifying coatings on metal) and even information technologies (methods of optimizing research and production).

So, in the "Copper separation from waste of electroplating industries" article, published in the "Heavy non-ferrous metals" section, the authors present the results obtained in the study of the regeneration of copper-ammonia pickling solutions with obtaining dense copper deposits. The possibility of using the separated copper for metallization of substrates or for electrical purposes is reported.

The issue contains articles about equipment for fine hydraulic screening of crushed ores, for closed overflow of melt from a vacuum transport ladle.

A selection of articles on the use of nanomaterials for films and coatings deserves special attention.

In the "Modeling of deformations of aluminum shells during boring" article the aspect of the expediency of using high-strength aluminum alloys for manufacture of casings of high-pressure cylinders is considered. Mathematical modeling was carried out in the Solid-Works environment at the maximum calculated clamping force of the workpiece.
