The topic of creating the latest production technologies is relevant for any industry. Three articles are devoted to it at once in the section «Beneficiation technology», which opens the issue. The first of them presents research to design and simulate portable processing circuits for low-grade chromite ores from the Gaft deposit (Iran) with minimal equipment requirements. The following article describes the assessment of the possibility of joint processing of gold-bearing ores from three deposits of the Russian Federation. The authors of the final publication of the section propose a technological scheme for the separation of quartz sand from quartz-kaolin rocks of the Khodzhakul deposits (Uzbekistan) and its further beneficiation.
Articles on technological mineralogy are presented in almost every issue of the journal. This time the reader can get acquainted with objective factors affecting the beneficiation rates of Khibiny apatite-nepheline ores at the stages of crushing, grinding and flotation. The article also discusses some parameters of the variability of ore properties that require constant monitoring.
The material of the section «Analytical methods in beneficiation processes» is devoted to the topic of testing ore and beneficiation products at processing plants. It shows how, based on the results of the current testing, to determine the coefficients of variation, the error of the measurement methodology.
The publication of the section «Theory of processes» presents the study of the movement of a layer of bulk material in a vertically vibrating vessel in order to establish the limits of using the simplest model of the theory of vibrational displacement to predict the movement of the material. This model is often used in the calculation of screens and other transport and technological vibration machines.
The results of research on the purification of acidic drainage tail waters of a copper processing plant with the disposal of waste generated for waterproofing the bottom of the quarry are presented in an article of consistently relevant environmental topics.
The logical conclusion of the issue is two articles dedicated to equipment for the mining industry. In the first one, for the development of the Kachkanar GOK tail farm, patterns of changes in specific pressure losses are established depending on the concentration of the solid phase in the flow during hydraulic transportation. The second article describes a vibrating device that ensures the movement of bodies along a fixed guide support. The design provides lifting or lowering of a platform with a load at an adjustable average speed and provides for the possibility of stopping traffic at specified time intervals.
