The 400^th (since the beginning of the publication) issue of the journal, which can be called an anniversary one, once again collected on its pages publications about research in demand in various scientific and technical areas. It opens with an article on the preliminary hydraulic classification of crushed fine–grained ores in the technological tandem of a flat-bottomed hydrocyclone – a multi-frequency screen. Such a tandem allows to increase the total productivity of the equipment, the extraction of small classes into the undersize product, the service life of fine sieves, and to reduce the water consumption for irrigation of the oversize product.

Authors from Kyrgyzstan presented a technology for the beneficiation of Altyn-Zhylga gold deposit ore using gravity methods, which make it possible to remove free, large gold and silver, copper minerals from the process, which provides beneficiation tailings that are stable in terms of metal content, for which further processing is required.

Another technological article describes the development and implementation of a simulation model of a segment of the ferruginous quartzite beneficiation section based on the results of testing in section No. 9 of the crushing and processing plant of JSC «Olcon» to predict the distribution of the calculated size class according to the processing of the technological scheme for obtaining magnetite concentrate.

The topic of modeling is continued and developed by the publications of the section «Beneficiation processes». They propose an original method of processing and using averaged data to construct a model of centrifugal concentration; a computer program has been developed to determine the floatability spectra and calculate schemes based on them.

The issue also pays attention to the topic of import substitution, which is very relevant today. Its tasks and possible mechanisms in the production and supply of industrial and laboratory equipment for processing plants and research centers are considered.

An article on environmental issues presents studies of the possibility of cleaning acidic drainage waters of a tailings farm using waste from the incineration of MSW.

The publication of the «Equipment» section gives an assessment of the consequences of the operation of a slurry pump in cavitation modes for the vibration characteristics of its parts and assemblies.

The issue ends with historical material about the outstanding scientist, holder of the Order of Lenin G. V. Illuvieva, whose scientific, pedagogical and social activities were inextricably linked with the St. Petersburg Mining University (Leningrad Mining Institute).
