Tsvetnye Metally

Tsvetnye Metally” № 5/2011 is devoted to activities of The Baykov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences

The institute realizes fundamental and applied scientific researches in metallurgical and materials sciences areas, such as theoretical researches in area of alloys physicochemistry, construction and calculation of diagrams of metallic systems in equilibrium and nonequilibrium conditions. Theoretical problems of durability and forming of metal, composition and other modern materials are researched in the institute.

In the paper by O. M. Levchuk and co-authors it has been reported about realized researches of electrochemical processing of metal wastes and wastes of different alloys under the action of alternate current with industrial frequency (50 cycles per second). It has been shown, that described by authors condition greatly activated process of anode dissolving, compared with process of their chemical oxidation.

R. S. Mikheev and co-authors researched the structure, mechanical and tribotechnical properties of composition materials with matrix of aluminium alloys, strengthened by TiC particles, which has been produced, using casting technology by method of mechanical mixing of filling agents in matrix melt. It has been shown, that implementation of TiC particles in matrix melts stabilizes friction process, widens triboloading diapason, leads to reducing friction coefficient and raising durability by 2–3 times.

In the paper by I. V. Tregubova and co-authors the regularities of synthesis of metal nanopowders of copper, nickel, iron, tungsten and their alloys are considered by chemical-metallurgical method. The results of researching correlation between temperature of precursor reduction and degree of reduction to metal are presented. The influence of factor lines (methods of precursor preparation, reduction temperature) on characteristics of synthesized metal nanopowders is shown.

The results of experimental and theoretical researches of prospects of alloys on vanadium base using in reactors of thermonuclear fusion, obtained in the Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the frames of programs of materials development for nuclear power engineering have been presented in the paper by L. I. Ivanov and co-authors.

In materials, prepared by V. F. Shamray and V. N. Serebryany, the works results of researches of crystallographic textures of constructional materials, realized in laboratory of crystal-structure researches at the Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences since last ten years have been presented.
