The issue No. 8/9 of "Tsvetnye Metally” (“Non-Ferrous Metals”) journal is dedicated to the work of a research and development institute, LLC “Gipronickel”.
The “Gipronickel” Institute was formed on October 1, 1934 in Leningrad for the purpose of design and development of technologies for mining and metallurgical enterprises of the USSR. At the present time it is a member of MMC Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter – the Company), and provides all the Company’s enterprises with research and engineering.
Subject-matter of the articles covers study of the ore and industrial products material constitution, elaboration and implementation of new technologies of ores mining and beneficiation, pyro- and hydrometallurgical processes, briquetting of sulphide concentrates. The experience in the actual design of a large enterprise for the ore strip mining is presented. Series of problems regarding moly ore and blanch as well as scheelite concentrate processing are examined. A separate section is devoted to the mathematical modeling of processes, methodical aspects of emissions calculations, melts checkout and slag testing, system of state standard samples of the Company's products development.
Nearly every article contains recommendations and conclusions of current interest to processing engineers, designers and researchers of the Company.
