Obogashchenie Rud
The section “Processing Technology” is the largest in this issue. In particular, the results of the laboratory, pilot-scale and commercial-scale dressability studies of different types of diamond ores, performed at ZAO “Mekhanobr Engineering”, are presented, permitting to obtain relationships regarding diamonds losses and diamond ores final disintegration size, providing for more rational organization of the ores disintegration and processing flow sheet (the article by A. V. Bogdanovich et al.). The results of the laboratory studies on copper-nickel converter matte proportioned sulphurizing that increases selectivity of its flotation separation into copper and nickel concentrates with drastic decrease in metal alloy yield are reported (the article by О. А. Vlasov and V. V. Mechev). Based on the analysis of titanates’ physicochemical properties, contained in titanium slag produced by reduction electro-smelting of titanium-magnetite concentrates, a possibility of their recovery by means of concentration methods with production of sufficiently high-grade titanium concentrate is considered (the article by I. М. Zelenova and А. А. Morozov). The methods of quartz disintegration and beneficiation, permitting to increase quartz concentrate quality, are proposed (the article by R. Sh. Nasyrov).
The section “Process Theory” is also quite representative. The results of the experimental study of large heavy bodies paradoxical behavior in vibrating loose medium and water-saturated soil are presented. The studied effects form the basis of operating principle of concentration tables, vibratory screens, separators and sluices, and may be used not only in mineral processing, but also in other technologies (the article by I. I. Blekhman et al.). A new approach to description of ore grinding in a ball mill in tumbling regime ofrandom collisions between grinding bodies and ground particles is likened to kinetics of bimolecular successive irreversible reactions with unlimited number of stages is presented (the article by V. P. Malyshev et al.).The article by G.N. Mashevsky et al. considers a new approach to the development of a method and a system for monitoring of processed ore blend technological type in floatation concentration.
This section is supplemented by “Letter to the Editor” from the author of the article “Hypervalent states of Fe-Co-Ni elements triad as forms of their entry into the Earth’s core”, published in the 2nd issue of the journal “Obogashchenie Rud” (2012), V. V. Zuev, who complements his hypothesis of the Earth’s inner core structure with quantitative concept of the core structure’s two main phases.
