Abstract | Coil tracking is addressed as part of the production data acquisition in its various forms and analysis options. The timely assessment of broadband flat products represents an engineering challenge. This concerns especially the mapping of the process values to the produced meters at the respective sites where the band is subject to thermal or mechanical deformation. This article describes general considerations to get closer to the task, approaches for solving this task, principles of simulation, proven solutions, filling the quality evaluation protocols, recognition of defect areas, comparative analysis and different benefits for the users. It is shown that control of measured data can be done and defects on manufactured strips can be identified and localized due to correspondence of technological parameters and executing orders. It provides more easy procedure of coil quality evaluation. At separate plants, the automatized system of defect identifi cation assists to prepare the solution about product accepting still on production stage via comparison of preset and actual values. It is possible now to track appearance of defect areas of deviations of values for any plants and respectively, to make corresponding corrections for quality improvement of finished products. All protocols are saved during production process and provide high level of transparency for customers. |
