Abstract

For 30 years of exploitation, the depth of Muruntau open pit has been increased by 7.2 times, average distance of transportation into dump has been increased by 3.1 times, and average carrying capacity of dump trucks has been increased by 5 times. Since 1984, cyclical and continuous method has been introduced, which became the logical continuing of evolution of tchnological transport at Muruntau open pit. There was defined that variation of cargo flow in the system of cyclical and continuous method during one turn makes up 31%. This leads either to underloading of conveyor transport, or to impossibility of receiving of a part of dump trucks in the peak hours. Introduction of intermediate stores between cyclical and continuous transport made it possible to increase the exploitation productivity of cyclical and continuous method by 12%. Besides, increasing of efficiency of operation of cyclical and continuous method was reached due to the following operations:
-optimization of parameters of drilling and blasting operations;
-formation of high dumps;
-controlled movement of rocks in dump;
-increasing of advance increment of stacking conveyor by 25-30% etc.
There was substantiated the application of slopes of rocks for down by-passing of rock mass under the influence of gravitation force with its following lifting by conveyors from deeper horizons on the daily surface. Controlling of excavator-automobile complex is realized by the system of GPS of control of objects' position. Optimization of mining operations' mode is carried out on the basis of computer programs. Load capacity of dump trucks is increased from 75-100 to 140-190 tones. Significant increasing of the range of use of continuous transport and its productivity increasing to 17-22 mln m3 per year became possible as a result of modernization. Due to application of cyclical and continuous method, the distance of truck haulages of rock mass at open pit was decreased by 30-40% and height of its lifting by dump trucks was decreased by 50-70%.
