Abstract | Since the stone drivage and capital construction of the V. Grib Mining and Processing Combine (MPC) had been launched, the surveying network was accepted the survey control deployed at the stage of engineering investigation and ensuring sustained operation within the mine life as well as enabling ready recovery of survey stations in case they get lost in the course of construction or mining. The basic working range of the surveying includes bridging, survey of the open pit mine and dumps, exploring drives and full-scale visible elements of geological structure of the deposit, production units, benches, ramps, trenches, drainage workings, drainage ditches, hazardous area delineation, transportation routes in the open pit mine and on dumps, scaffold bridges, substations, hydromechanization facilities. Prior to surveying, ground reconnaissance is conducted. The network stations arranged around the open pit mine and dumps survey the current mining areas using the method of radiation. The current mine surveying in the open pit mine and at the construction objects of the Verkhotinsky MPC uses satellite acquisition and GPS. The bimonthly mine surveying of the open pit mine and dumps uses survey networks deployed on the basis of the survey control stations. Each time when selecting a survey networking method, under consideration are the maximum possible endurance of the stations, usability and pinpointing of the survey network stations relative to the survey control stations. Aimed at forecasting and preventing dangerous landslides, subsidence and fall of benches and pitwalls, the mine surveying service carries out the rock mass and earth surface movement monitoring. Since 2011 the V. Grib MPC has been monitoring the pitwall deformations. Based on the analysis of the data on early stage movements, measures are developed to prevent unallowable deformation of the pitwalls and bench slope |
