The article highlights the 60-years period of high-performance activity of the Belgorod Iron Ore Expedition (today, Belgorodgeologia LLC), from discovery of the rich Yakovlevsky iron ore deposit to the origination of the modern high-capacity mineral and raw material base, including hard minerals and underground water in the area of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly. The authors display the main trends, types and outcomes of geological, hydrogeological and geoecological research, prospecting and exploration, the level of technology, equipment and personnel, the issues of the transition period and operation under market-oriented economy. Availability of highly skilled specialists, all geological exploration licenses and laboratory accreditation certificates, as well as equipment allows the company to carry out geological exploration and reporting, independently, on the high quality and technology level, at high rating and under any authority. The merits of some administrative managers, experts and other co-workers in generation of the modern all-purpose mineral and raw material base in the Belgorod Region are recognized.
