Abstract | The article reports the long-term research performed by the Russian scientists into development and introduction of the resource-reproducing and ecologically balanced geotechnologies for comprehensive exploitation of mineral deposits in the area of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly, with underground mining and total waste utilization in backfilling. The waste-free geotechnologies have become possible due to development and commercialization of rock mass-and-mine systems created by means of simultaneous and successive backfilling of hydraulically connected goafs with current dewatered waste of iron ore processing. The research has yielded a new solution to the problem of development and preservation of large deposits in Central Russia by means of introduction of waste-free underground geotechnologies at the Korobkovsky deposit and at promising deposits of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly—Prioskolsky, Chernyansky and others. The scientific and practical proof of the essentiality to modify the concept on exploitation of the unique mineral wealth of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly has spurred the spread of the research data on innovation geotechnologies to be applied to ore deposits in the other regions of Russia. The work has been carried out under grant NSH-2918.2014.5 with participation of Yu. P. Galchenko, E. B. Zubitsky, S. G. Leizerovich, M. V. Rylnikova, V. V. Sidorchuk, and V. I. Shokov. |
