Abstract | One of the key trends of scientific and production activity of VIOGEM is handling the problems associated with rational utilization of water resources, industrial water-supply engineering and flooding protection of mine objects and installations. The article describes VIOGEM’s projects of special engineering and process systems for water drawdown and drainage in flooded open pit and underground mines, industrial sites and other objects, using upward and horizontal drain holes. In addition, designs and characteristics of special-purpose rock drilling machines, outfitting of drain holes and systems of radial drain holes are presented in the article. The novelty, distinction and efficiency of the developed methods and systems are emphasized. |
