Abstract

Performance of operating mining and processing plants has deteriorative aftereffect on the nature and society. The change of the prevailing situation must be based on the revision of the approaches to mine and processing plant planning. To this effect, a research center has been founded — the laboratory for the environmentally sound exploitation and conservation of mineral wealth, fitted out with the advanced research equipment selected for solving the urgent problems of modern low-waste mine and processing plant planning. The laboratory aims its activity at the development of theories and actual data bases in the area of mine technical design, forecasting and justification of volumes and quality of various geo-resources within a region under development and probable ranges of the effective use of minerals without environmental impact, definition of types of the environmentally sound geotechnologies and mineral processing methods as well as their combinations in different periods of life cycle of mining and processing systems.
The research is supported by the Russian Science Foundation, Grant No. 14-37-00050.
