Abstract | From the analysis of the current educational activities, it is concluded that the higher education institutions lack the appropriate assessment system for expert knowledge, although commercial plants and nonprofit associations have accumulated sufficient experience that is expedient to transfer in the sphere of education. Out of the appraisal methods for a scope of skills, which exist on the market and are analyzed in the article, the educational practice only uses the casemethod and the method of subject (situation) problems. It is required to introduce other estimating methods in educational activities. The article describes one of such methods — assessment-center method — that is intensively introduced at large organizations in Russia. The authors discuss the features of the assessment-center method, directly associated with professional occupation, the assessment criteria defined per every skill and the experience gained by the Mining Faculty of the Transbaikal State University in the use of the innovation technology of the assessment-center method. Based on the use of the innovative methods and technologies of the assessment-center in educational activities of the Mining Faculty, the main requirements have been imposed on the assessment-center method in order to ensure high-quality assessment; it is highlighted in the article that the use of the offered method establishes back communication between a university and the labor market. It has been justified that the innovative methods and techniques developed by the labor market for estimation of educational training performance enables readjustment of the control over planning and implementation of the main professional education programs toward elaboration of a scope of functions and skills. |
