Abstract | Main scientific and application results, achieved in development of radiometric technologies and technical facilities for preconcentration of uranium ores with a view to accomplish sorting of ore mined underground and carry out reprocessing of dumped wastes by means of modular installations, are presented. An underground ore sorting unit and producing blocks with underground leaching of ore are proposed and described. It was determined, that sorting of ore mined underground would permit to separate about 40 % of cut-off grade ore and barren rock without winding up such material, but instead using reject materials for backfilling of cavities, filling of mine roads and rail tracks or subject such reject materials to leaching. A new above-ground complex of «Altait» type, designed for uranium processing wastes treatment by means of modular installations, installed in close proximity to the dumps, is presented. Brief technical specifications of sorters of «Alunit» type, «Laurit R 40» type and «Albit R 90» type are given. It is shown, that their application permits to eliminate existing rock material dumps, additionally produce uranium ore suitable for primary treatment at hydrometallurgical plants, as well as to improve ecological and social situation in uranium mining regions. Specialists of the «UkrNIPIIpromtechnologies» (Zhyoltye Vody), VNIPIpromtechnologies (Moscow), VNIIKHT (Moscow), «Vost Mining-and-Processing Complex» (Zhyoltye Vody), VNIMI (St. Petersburg), «Kirovgeology» (Kiev), etc., took part in development, improvement and commercial introduction of scientifically-derived engineering and scientific research results. |
