Abstract

The work is devoted to the technology of upsetting the ends of pumping and compression pipes at the SMS Meer hydraulic press and the problems of putting this technology into operation in the conditions of Pervouralsk New Tube Works. Technological scheme of tube ends upsetting in the hydraulic press is explained. Dimension range of the tubes with upset ends manufactured at Pervouralsk New Tube Works is displayed; it includes the tubes with external diameter 60.3–88.9 mm and wall thickness 5.0-6.5 mm. meeting the requirements of national (GOST 633–80 and GOST R 53366–2009) and American (API 5CT) standards. The ways of further development of upsetting technology, directed on improvement of the quality of finished products and lowering of operation expenses are presented. The results of tool testing after its nitridizing are shown; the surface hardness of extrusion stem and forming die increased by 1.4 times. The works connected with development of the new tool pass design, optimization of its manufacturing method and choosing of the efficient lubrication (Thermosyn SGV и Deltaforge F-578) are observed.
