Abstract

In 2006/09 ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solution AG received instruction by order of Dragon Steel Corp. with regard to design, supervision of erection as well as commissioning of new coke oven batteries and gas treatment plant within the es-tablishment of a new steel plant in Taiwan. In total, four batteries with a nominal annual capacity of approx. 2.28 million t coke, two coal and quench towers along with two sets of coke oven machines were set into service within two stages of extension. The dual gas treatment plant is designed for a raw gas flow of 125 000 m³ (STP)/h. The project was successfully completed in 2013, after two stages of mounting works, and 168 coke ovens have started operation using such technological features as Combiflame, Controlpress and CiclaSulf methods. It is mentioned that ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solution AG has put into practice more than 2,000 coke ovens (34 coke oven batteries) at 13 enterprises in Asia during recent 10 years.
