In order to study effectiveness of application of a new flotation reagent «PS» – anabasinium – in sulfide copper ores flotation, preliminary studies were performed in open and locked circuits. Determinative factors in beneficiation process are reagents consumptions: «PS» collector, lime medium regulator, T-92 frother. Through the statistical analysis of the results of the Sayakskoye deposit copper ore flotation in open circuit, using probabilistic deterministic approach, optimal reagents consumptions were determined for performance of studies in locked circuit. The experiments were conducted on the operating flotation flow sheet at the Balkhashskaya concentrating plant. Flotation efficiency was controlled by copper recovery into concentrate. The ore reduction ratio was 60–62 % of –0.074 mm size fraction. It was established, that maximum recovery of copper into concentrate was observed with «PS» reagent-collector consumption of 25 g/t, that of lime — 0.75 kg/t, frother Т-92 — 85 g/t. The achieved results corroborated that application of the new «PS» flotation reagent permits to increase copper recovery into concentrate by 0.87 %, and concentrate grade — by 0.4 %, if compared with the results, achieved with application of a conventional flotation reagent — butyl xanthate.
