Abstract

A theory of silicate microorganisms application in low-grade ores treatment is described. The existing theories of this type of microorganisms activity and recultivation, as well as possible effects on quartziferous ores are presented. Factors, affecting biodestructive rate and kinetics, as well as biodestructive process control and optimization are considered. The data obtained in the studies of bioculture optimal living conditions and recultivation, nutritive medium preparation, influence of different elements, contained in nutritive medium, upon bacterial living processes, are presented. The results, obtained by the authors in quartziferous ores silicate bacterial treatment studies, are analyzed. Ore composition, nutritive medium preparation methods, as well as samples analysis, are described. Bacterial isolation was performed in accordance with the standard microbiological method, using soil isolation with nutritive medium А-27. Samples hardness properties were tested by means of instrumented indentation (nanoindentation), employing the Vickers hardness test standard method (HV). The elastoplastic properties and microindentation hardness were estimated with the help of dynamic ultra-hardness (nanoindentation) tester Shimadzu DUH-211. On the basis of the conducted studies results, the conclusions are drawn with respect to ore biodestructive dynamics and possible mechanism of quartz inclusions disintegration.
