The first part of the article gives the overall review of the state of economics of the CIS countries at the end of 2014, and shows the analysis of the state of miningmetallurgical branches of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The state of mining-metallurgical branches of the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldavia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Ukraine is analyzed in the second part. The enterprises of mining-metallurgical complex of the Kyrgyz Republic include mostly non-ferrous metallurgy objects, among which the products' amount of precious metals prevails (19 t of gold was released in 2014 (according to assessment)). Metallurgical industry of Moldavia includes mostly ferrous metallurgy enterprises, while non-ferrous metallurgy is almost absent, which is basically connected with collection and storage of secondary raw materials. Russian mining-metallurgical complex is one of the largest in the world. Nonferrous metallurgy contains over 500 enterprises, connected with ore extraction, its processing and release of non-ferrous, noble and rare metals, and a wide rolled product range on their basis. In 2014, Russian mining-metallurgical complex provided ~12.5% of the total volume of industrial-scale production and 8.8% of Russian export (metal products). According to the assessment of economic activity types, the part of miningmetallurgical industry of Uzbekistan in the output of industrial products in 2014 was ~13.0% (14.8% in 2013), where non-ferrous metallurgy covers 10% and ferrous metallurgy covers 3%.
