Abstract. The article proves the necessity of specialized training of the projectors — technicians for the construction of a new enterprises or remodeling of existing industry. The tasks that projector-technician should perform in process of reconstruction or new construction of the industrial project are set. Skills and knowledge that modern projector-technician should master are listed. The work experience of the Institute of material and metallurgical engineering of the Ural Federal University (UrFU) named after the first Russian President Eltsyn B. N. on projector– technician training with the perspective of their further work as project chief engineer is taken into account. The improvement of the training program is proposed.
