The article describes practice of development and introduction of Qaulity Management System (QMS) at a design institute in compliance with the requirements of international standards ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015. The roots and the history of IS are briefly addressed as well as the benefi ts of a systematic approach to quality of project documentation (PD) in the mining industry. The scope of QMS certified by the international agency ТÜV NORD CERT GmbH (Essen) and introduced at the Uralgiproruda Institute is presented. Based on the accepted and approved quality policy, the Institute established quality management objectives, activities, processes and procedures in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. The article describes introduction stages for new standard ISO 9001:2015. After analysis of stage I eff ectiveness, the topicality of the standards was justified. The goals of quality management and activities towards PD quality improvement are updated and elaborated for production departments of the Institute. The criteria and indexes for objective 10 point rating of activities of departments towards higher quality of PD in the process “Project Documentation Design and Development” are reported. The author describes the outcome of introduction of new engineering solutions in 2015 projects. Requirements and Regulations on PD design rule check are developed based on Russia’s State Standard R 21.002-2014 SPDS. The next stages of ISO 9001:2015 introduction will be implementation of risk-management elements in QMS and defi nition of skills required to maintain the functioning of the Institute. Further improvement of QMS and introduction of new ISO 9001:2015 will enable improvement of quality and effi ciency of design work. The Institute performance within the 10-years period of QMS application (from 2006 to 2016) is shown. |
