The article addresses the world’s unique organizational activity — a training and guideline association in the area of education. The history of such associations in the field of training of mining engineers is tracked. The author presents the key activities of the Training and Guideline Association of Mining Universities in Russia and lists their regulatory documents. In accordance with the national higher education policy of the Russian Federation, the principles of shaping a new network of federal training and guidelines associations are formulated. The structure of the Federal Training and Guideline Association in the expanded qualification area of Applied Geology, Mining, Oil and Gas Production and Geodesy is described, and the key lines of activities of the Association are identified. Consolidation of all resources, satisfaction of all personnel training standards set by the industry and motivated work of teaching staff of universities when implementing educational programs is a passport to success in development of the national training system for mining engineers.
