SMS group has developed the mobile measuring system allowing to check the contour and location of passes in tube rolling mills. The Caliview system controls setting of passes without hard manual operations. Deviations that are determined by the system can be corrected quickly and easily. The Caliview system also allows to provide orientation of grooved rolls relating to each other and rolling line. It is possible now to adjust the elements of hydraulic and mechanic mechanisms in the mills for PQF (Premium Quality Finishing) finishing processing of high quality tubes and processing in MPM multi-stand pipe mills. Additionally, the system checks rolls in stripping mills, sizing mills and reducing-stretching tube rolling mills. It is shown that only Caliview system provides direct and precise roll adjusting in rolling mills, just after every their replacement. The measuring system built in production line can be applied also in helical rolling mills and in roll shops.
