Abstract | The paper is dedicated to the technological studies and justification for the tin-bearing ore processing flow sheet, developed for the Kazakhstan deposit. The ore sample studies revealed the prevailing size of –0.045 mm. Also, this size fraction contains 44.96 % of total tin. The mix material chemical composition is represented mostly by silicon oxides (30.3 %), aluminium oxides (17.06 %) and iron which accounts for 27.08 %. The ore contains a commercially valuable component — tin (0.797 %). 94 % of tin is contained in cassiterite, the mineral mass fraction in the mix material is 1 %; about 6 % of tin is present as stannite and other tin-containing compounds. The comprehensive technological research established the expediency of application of hydraulic classification. The proposed variant of flow sheet provides for production of two types of saleable concentrates with total tin recovery of 56.1 %. It was revealed, that the developed processing flow sheet efficiency is affected by weathered ore clay content, fine dissemination of cassiterite, and a significant quantity of slime in weathered ore. The developed processing flow sheet may provide for production of gravity concentrate of practically any grade. Concentrate tin grade will be determined by the concentrate yield. Tin recovery into concentrate will vary accordingly. |
