Abstract

Rolls are the key factor for productivity rise that has direct effect on their cost optimization in the framework of rolling production. The rolls manufactured by ESW company allow to reach higher productivity and, consequently, profi tability of rolling mill operation. Additional expenses caused by sheet defects are analyzed and restricted production facilities for roll grinding should be taken into account. Different customers have tested operating properties of new rolls, and mostly it was finalized in issuing of permissions for their permanent work. ESW company continues its researches to create more effi cient rolls, meaning improvement of their non-susceptibility to emergency situations. It is shown that the higher is roll resistance, the most important is highqualified control of each case of roll usage. Presence and preparation of corresponding personnel able to solve these tasks and to interpret correctly the obtained results is considered as the priority necessity. Corresponding planning of testing can be implemented together with ESW technical staff ; as a result, both sides will win.
