Abstract

The methods of mathematical simulation using finite elements technique are presented for description of strip plastic deformation in manufacture of large-diameter tubes. The parameters of metal stressstrain state along the whole technological line are evaluated for strip forming at extrusion equipment (beading machine, step forming) and for expanding of fi nished tubes. It is shown that the parts of tube billet with large heterogeneity of stress-strain state are characterized by increased values of residual stresses and strains; thereby increase of tube diameter and out-of-roundness in comparison with their average values are noted. The developed computer program allows to determine the ultimate values of out-of-roundness of formed O-shaped tube billet and finished tube after its sizing in expander. This program also enables to define the values of controlled geometric parameters of finished tubes in correspondence with standard requirements.
