The article addresses the problems connected with the accident risk reduction in underground coal mining. The key functions of the multifunction geodynamic and gas-dynamic control of rock mass are presented. The main installation requirements for the seismic and seismo-acoustic emission control equipment in roadways and in face areas are listed. The hazard state estimation based on the data of seismo-acoustic emission in rock mass is described. Estimation criteria of dynamic phenomenon hazard are given based on the analysis of change in the seismic-acoustic emission and the amplitude-frequency response of an artificial signal initiated by the operating mining equipment. The effects of a dynamic phenomenon location on mining safety are discussed. The algorithm aimed to reveal anomalies characterizing coal damage zones and constituting potential hazard is presented.
