The aim of the study is to develop economic geology models to assess the dependence of exploration cost on groups of the most significant technology and economy factors towards sustainable mineral mining and processing. The theoretical framework of the study is based on the methods of system analysis and modeling, structural analysis and design of control system, process approach, methods of mathematical statistics and econometrics, correlation and regression analysis and forecasting. Developed within this research, the economic geology monitoring system is used by regional authorities, mining companies and potential investors in the Central Federal District, Bryansk Region and in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Russia. The evaluation was performed by an additive model for iron ore, cement and glass materials. The evaluation shows that all factors selected for the modeling are statistically significant and reliable, which is confirmed by Student’s t-test of all parameters; the statistical significance of the model, its quality and applicability are confirmed and proved using Fisher’s F-criterion. The obtained models can be employed in zoning cost indicators characterizing mineral potential of a territory, which will provide visual representation of the current condition and future prospects of mining in separate regions, federal districts and subjects of Russia.
